Abstract

694,675. Seats. LEYLUX, Ltd. April 3, 1952 [March 20, 1951], No. 6598/51. Class 52(ii) A locking device for a rocking chair comprises a bar e pivoted to the rocker frame at d and adapted, to slide in a socket constituted by a bracket g mounted on the chair frame. The socket is provided with a friction pad h against which the bar e is forced when it is desired to lock together the rocker and chair frames. A rod j having a handle k and screwed through a nut i carried by the bracket g affords the means whereby the bar e may be pressed into locking engagement with the friction pad h of the socket. The bar e is provided with a turned-over portion e<SP>1</SP> to serve as a stop. In a modification both the mounting of the bar and the socket may be constituted by blocks of wood suitably formed.
