685,429. Cleaning arrangements in spinning machines. S O C . ANON. DES ETABLISSEMENTS NEU. Aug. 10, 1951 [March 13, 1951]. No. 18920/51. Class. 120 (iii). Also in Group XXVI. Spinning frames 1-5 are pneumatically cleaned by pivotally mounted fans 9-13, each of which moves slowly and continuously about its centre of gravity so that the current produced by its screw sweeps over the entire length of frames adjacent to the frame over which the fan is centrally positioned. Each fan may have a second screw (as shown at 12 and 13) which moves conjointly with the other screw to sweep the ceiling. In a fan unit, a yoke piece 25 of a rotatably mounted barrel 20 pivotally mounts therewithin an electric motor 29 driving a rubber-bladed screw 30 and a reducing gear unit 28 rotating a pulley 31 which frictionally engages and co-operates with a guide ramp 33 to produce the required rotary and inclining movements of the fan : electrical connections are made by means of brushes 23, 24, engaging slip rings 21, 22. The pulley may be replaced by a toothed pinion co-acting with a rack carried on a guide ramp, (Fig. 5), (not shown).
