Abstract

679,079. Non-return valves. COMPRESSOR ACCESSORIES, Ltd. Sept. 15, 1950, No. 22688/50. Class 135. An automatic valve for compressors &c. comprises one or more spring-loaded annular valve members 5 of such section as to present two diverging faces to the fluid flow as the valve opens, and coacting with chamfered seats 12 in a ported seat member 7. A ported stop plate 10 limits the opening movement of the valve member so that it never completely leaves the seat opening and cannot, therefore, be displaced wholly to one side thereof. The valve member is self-centring during closure by virtue of its shape. The loading spring 9 is of undulating and gapped, annular, form.
