Class 8 (i) A compressor comprises a piston 5 in a cylinder 61 connected by a rod 4 to a guide member 3 carrying a roller 23 held in contact with a cam roller 25 by means of a bellows 27 secured at one end to the rod 4 and at the other to a flexible annular supporting member 271 clamped between a cylinder member 6 and a guide supporting member 1. The member 6 is surrounded by a casing 15 secured to the member 1 and containing oil to a predetermined level a. The casing 15 is provided with an outlet port 30 and an inlet port 19 communicating with a chamber 9a in a cover 71. The chamber 9a communicates with an inlet port 9. A 'chamber 10a in the cover 71 communicates with an outlet port 10 and is connected by a pipe 22 to the interior of the casing 15 above the oil level a. A coiled pipe 17 communicates at one end with the casing 15 below the oil level through a filter 18 and at the other with a part in the cylinder 61. Oil is forced through the pipe 17 by gas pressure above the oil level a.
