646,057. Surgical optical instruments. AMERICAN CYSTOSCOPE MAKERS, Inc. Jan. 23, 1947, No. 5972/49. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1946. Divided out of 646,022. [Class 81(ii)] An endoscopic instrument of the type described in Specification 646,022 comprises an endoscopic tube 16 having a plurality of lateral fenestras 17, 18 formed therein and spaced therearound, and a telescope disposed in said tube and including an objective lens 72 positioned in the region of the fenestras, the tube and the telescope being relatively rotatable successively to bring each of the fenestras into the field of vision commanded by the telescope. Rotatably mounted on the tube 16 is a sleeve 46 to which is secured a housing 74 which carries the telescope assembly, relative axial movement of the tube 16 and sleeve 46 being prevented by a stud, not shown, carried by the sleeve and riding in an annular groove 48 formed on the tube. A spring-pressed detent means 55 carried by the sleeve is arranged to register with detent apertures 41, 42 on a collar 35 secured to the tube when either of the fenestras is in the field of vision of the telescope.
