Abstract
635,015. Sheeting dough. VICARS, Ltd., T. & T., and APPLETON, A. June 3, 1947, No. 14661. [Class 87 (ii)] Dough or cake mixture is rolled and divided into parallel strips before, or at the same time as, it leaves the rollers. The dough is fed to the bight of a pair of rollers 2, 3 co-operating with another roller 5 to form a compression space 4, is stripped from the roller 2 by a scraper 37 but adheres to the roller 5, is divided into strips by blades 12 touching the roller 5, and is stripped therefrom, in a divided state, by a blade 16. The scraper 37 and the blade 16 are mounted with spring and nut adjustment, and the space 4 is adjustable by nuts 7, 8 on a threaded spindle 9, the end of a pivoted lug which carries the roller 2 being resiliently held between the nuts. In a modification, the rollers have circumferential grooves in which fit division plates, which division plates may also divide the interior of the hopper, and scrapers are provided between the plates functioning as the scraper 37, the divided dough being stripped from the last roller. Mention is made of rollers having ribs. The strips after leaving the rollers may fall upon an endless belt conveyer.
