615,570. Surface and outline gauges. BOARDMAN, H., WHITEHEAD, A., and BURROW, S. R. May 31,1946, No. 16573. [Class 106 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] Apparatus for measuring surface curvature comprises a beam a having therein a sensitive spirit level g and spaced contact members b<1> and c on the underside of the beam, the contact b<1> being adjustable transversely of the beam by a micrometer b. The contact c comprises a channel-shaped member having two feet e, and is adjustable along the length of the beam and adapted to be clamped thereto by screws d engaging grooves a<1>. The beam is graduated at f and is also provided with projecting stops h for co-operation with the work-piece or a straight-edge. The level g is so calibrated that the divisions represent differences of level over a standard distance. Specification 595,320 is referred to.
