Abstract
600,566. Addressing and like machines. ADREMA, Ltd., and KERR, R. L. Dec. 20, 1944, No. 25543. [Class 100(ii)] Printing-surfaces. - A printing-plate 1 for addressing and like printing-machines is formed at or adjacent one edge with slots 4 to receive tabs 5 and has an integral marginal extension 8 for an indexing inscription 6, the extension being disposed on the same edge as the slots but so as not to interfere with their use for the reception of the tabs and being formed by a single thickness of material accessible from both sides of the plate, thereby permitting embossing of the inscription. In Fig. 1, the slots 4 are formed in a lip 3 formed by folding the edge of the plate. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the edge 3 is folded to treble thickness, the rear fold being prolonged to form a flange of single thickness to receive the inscription, and in Fig. 4 the part 8 is foreshortened. The part of the plate which prints may be detachable.
