Abstract
583,035. Rotary engines. MAILLARD, B. Aug. 20, 1943, No. 13607. [Class 110 (ii)] A rotor r, Fig. 1, has n + l lobes and rotates around its axis s at an angular speed of wr, and the axis s revolves around the axis p of a fixed casing t with n lobes, at an angular speed of wp. The relation between the angular speeds is given by the equation wp/wr = n + l/n. Means to construct the contours of the rotor and the casing are described in the Specification. A compressor or pump'constructed as above, is shown in Figs. 6 and 7, which has inlet ports, A, A<1>, and delivery ports B, B<1>. A shaft D is supported in ball bearings E and carries a rotor C, eccentrically, on bearings H, H<1>. A crown wheel I gears with a wheel J integral with a disc which seals one end of the working chamber. A further disc K is provided. Balance weights L, L<1>, L<2> are carried. The shaft is driven through a clutch M. Lubrication oil is supplied through a nozzle O. The value of n may be higher than 2. The rotor may be fixed and the drum rotate, or the two could rotate with respect to a stationary shaft.
