Abstract
579,316. Gas turbines. CONSTANT, H., SMITH, D. M., and METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. May 7, 1941, No. 5943. [Class 110 (iii)] Turbine blades secured in longitudinal grooves and the associated spacers have their under surfaces recessed, as at 6, Fig. 1, to provide a continuous channel for a cooling medium. In the turbine of Fig. 3, the blades 1c of the nozzle ring have recessed roots at both ends. Air conducted through the hollow walls 16 of a combustion chamber is directed into the cabling channels. Specification 578,115 is referred to.
