Insecticidal preparation especially for eradication of body lice comprises a rotenone-containing root, high boiling tar acid or medicinal paraffin as an activator incorporated in an inert powder carrier, e.g. china clay. Pyrethrum, naphthalene or other quick-acting insecticide may also be present.
