Abstract
550,600. Vehicle couplings. WALLACE & SONS Ltd., J. (Farm Equipment Co. O.). Sept. 20, 1941, No. 12204. [Class 103 (v)] The draft bar 12 of a trailer 10 is supported prior to attachment to the tractor by a member 15, pivoted on a pin 17 in the member 12 and controlled by an intermediate draft member 30, having at its forward end a pin 37 lifted upwardly by the tractor driver to engage with the tractor draft bar, a cord 43 also being pulled to release a locking bar 20 for the support 15. Movement of the tractor carrying forward the intermediate draft member 30 brings a pin 40 of the member 30 into engagement with recesses 41 of the draft bar 12, the movement also swinging the support 15 backwards about its pivot 17 into its inoperative position where it is held by locking lever 20.
