Abstract

554,384. Transformers; reactors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and WELLINGS, J. G. Jan. 16, 1942, No. 658. [Class 38 (ii)] A core for a transformer or choke comprises a straight laminated winding limb 11 and one or a pair of laminated elements 13 forming return flux paths, the laminations of the latter abutting those of the winding limb. edge on and at rightangles thereto. The elements 13 are formed of wound strip and may be held in position by clamps 14, non-magnetic packing being inserted between them and the winding limb if desired to introduce air gaps.
