[Class 40 (iv] [Also in Group XL] Relates to networks for either correcting or imitating, over a wide band of frequencies, in television and like transmission systems, distortion of amplitude and phase' due to variation with frequency of the resistance, inductance, capacity, or leakance of a cable or like trans-. mission line. As described in Specification 495,815 a reference frequency is assigned to each section of the equalizer, but the reference frequencies, instead of being spaced, as set forth in the abovementioned Specification, -to correspond to equal increments of transmission loss and phase delay, correspond to a series of slowly or evenly varying differences of such loss and delay. The arrangement in other respects, the general discussion, and the equalizing devices employed, are similar to those in the above-mentioned'Specification.
