Abstract

528,673. Knitted fabric. HEMPHILL CO. May 12, 1939, No. 14219. Convention date, Aug. 15, 1938. [Class 74 (ii)] Relates to a mock rib fabric suitable for use as a top for stockings &c. and consisting of inelastic yarn 31 knitted in alternate courses and elastic yarn 32 knitted under a light tension in alternate wales of intermediate courses and floated across intermediate wales which appear as rib wales on the outer face of the fabric. The thread known under the Registered Trade Mark "Lastex" may be used. A wrap pattern design is knitted from one or more threads 35 in prescribed areas. The yarn 31 is knitted by all the needles at the main feeding station while the thread 32 is fed to and knitted by alternate needles at an auxiliary feeding station. Specifications 4418/86, [Class 74], 275,200 and 300,605, [both in Class 74 (ii)], are referred to.
