Abstract
525,226. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems; valves. GAS LIGHT & COKE CO., and THOMSON, S. M. Feb. 17, 1939, No. 5279. [Class 135] A double-beat valve 5, Fig. 1, is mounted on a spindle 10 secured to differential diaphragms 7, 9 and variably loaded by weights 16 suspended from a lever 12. The chamber 17 below the diaphragm 7 is subject to main outlet pressure communicated through a pipe 19 while the chamber 20 above the diaphragm has a controllable vent 21 to atmosphere. The chamber 22 beneath the diaphragm 9 is open to atmosphere while a loading pressure is maintained in the.upper chamber 23 by an auxiliary governor 26. This governor, which may be controlled by a clock, is connected to the main inlet 2 by a pipe 27 to the main outlet by a pipe 29 fitted with a needle valve 28, and to the loading chamber by a pipe 25. In a modification, the actuating diaphragm of the governor 26 is subject to the pressure in the main outlet conduit.
