Abstract
515,901. Smokers' ash receptacles. ROBERTS, R. D. June 15, 1938, No. 17741. [Class 130] A circular, rectangular or other ash receptacle b has within it a set of inclined cigarette rests c and along or around an outer wall or walls a ledge a above the rests, so that a cigarette may be placed on a rest c with the upper unlighted end on the edge a. When the cigarette burns down to a short end, it falls into the receptacle through a gap between the rest and the ledge. The set of rests c is carried by a base secured within the receptacle by sockets fitted on threaded or plain pegs l, or by suction or other means. In a modification, Fig. 7, the ledge is replaced by separate projections a on the inner face of an adjustable spring ring b which grips a tray or saucer fitted with a set of rests c such as shown in Fig. 2.
