Abstract
515,850. Dry shavers. AMERICAN SAFETY RAZOR CORPORATION. June 14, 1938, No. 17639. Convention date, June 22, 1937. [Class 131] A dry shaver comprises an oscillating blade 40 with cutting edges 42, 44 co-operating with cutting edges 28, 29 at the inner ends of two rows of staggered slots 24, 25 in the shear plate. In a modification, Figs. 7 and 8, two cutter blades 80, 82 are provided, each co-operating with cutting edges at the opposite ends of its own row of slots 76, 77. Such slots may be separated.by ribs alternately wide and narrow. The blade is pivotally mounted in a slide 16 which is spring- pressed towards the shear plate. The outer surface of the shear plate may be flat or concave, and reinforcing ribs 48, 50 may be applied to the underside, the cutter blade being slotted to receive the ribs.
