Abstract
515,233. Brushes, &c. WECHSLER, S. June 13, 1938, Nos. 17519, and 25639. [Class 19] A clothes brush adapted to deal not only with light dust, but also with thick mud, comprises a stock with a set of bristles varying in stiffness from one end of the brush to the other, with or without a scraper. In one example, Fig. 1, a stock a has short bristles at one end and long bristles at the other, 'the stock being tapered accordingly as the ends of the bristles are in one plane. The short bristles are stiffer to remove mud. Instead of a tapered stock, .a stepped' one, Fig. 4, may be used. The step may be sloped. A scraper b with a hinged padded cover c may also be provided. In another modification the stock 'may be substantially the same thickness throughout. In another modification, Fig. 6, the underside of the stock may have a raised portion f for short bristles i and a step g for long bristles. The short bristles may be set in larger holes or 'the holes may be arranged more closely than those of the long bristles or alternatively the short bristles may be slightly inclined.
