Abstract

502,852. Mixing liquids &c. in flow. TIDBURY, T. Sept. 12, 1938, No. 26524. [Class 86] Apparatus for mixing liquids or semiliquids in flow, such as pulp for paper-making, comprises a pair of tanks in which the liquid is maintained at a constant head and from which there is a common discharge divided into two by a movable flap so as to vary the relative areas of the two parts. The liquids are supplied to tanks 1 and 2, fitted with grids 3, by pipes 5, 6 and overflow into pipes 7, 8, gates 9, adjustable by rack mechanism, being provided to maintain a constant height. A common discharge 4 is divided by a flap 11 adjustable by worm 14. Three liquids may be mixed by discharging one tank into two pipes into each of which one of the other tanks discharges.
