Abstract

501,884. Automatic guns. CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST, BRNO. June 21, 1938, No. 18460. Convention date, June 21. 1937. [Class 92 (ii)] Relates to gas-operated guns of the kind in which a forwardly-directed gasexhaust port 11 in the gas cylinder 2 is obturated by a forward extension of the gas piston 5 at the end of the forward movement of the gas piston. According to the invention, a gas exhaust port of smaller diameter than the gas cylinder is formed in the front end wall of the cylinder and is obturated by a longitudinally projecting spigot 5<1> on the front of the gas piston. The spigot shown is of circular section and is coaxial with the gas cylinder. The exhaust port is formed in a removable bayonet-jointed member 10 which is provided with holes 9 of different sizes so that the gas action can be varied by rotating the member.
