Abstract
492,042. Spray - producers. MAVOR & COULSON, Ltd., and MAVOR, J. B. March 15, 1937, No. 7480. [Class 69(iii)] [Also in Group XII] In treating air for the separation of dust by a mist on passage through a duct, compressed air is discharged axially forward in an annular jet or an annular group of jets 4, which induces a flow of dustladen air within and around the annular jet, and water is supplied near the jet so as to be atomized thereby. Compressed air is fed by pipes 6, 13 to an annular chamber 2 and discharges through the jets 4, which may be obliquely arranged to give a whirling motion. Water may be discharged at 14 into the interior of the annulus, where it is aspirated and atomized by the air. Preferably a pipe 7 supplies the compressed air to a tank 9 from which water is thus raised by a pipe 8 to the annulus 2, whence it is discharged in atomized form by air through the jets 4. Air and water regulating valves 10, 11 are provided. Specification 479,857, [Group XII], is referred to.
