Abstract

498,907. Pumps; cooling charge. BIRKIGT, L. April 9, 1937, No. 10210. Void. Convention date, March 13. [Class 7 (ii)] The charge is first compressed in an exhaustdriven turbo compresser t, and subsequently in an engine-driven centrifugal pump c. Valves v, v<1> in the charging pipe, and an exhaust byepass, are respectively opened and closed in succession, according to altitude, by barometric capsules b, b<1>. A cooler for the charge may be arranged between the two pumps. In a V-engine a pair of turbo blowers, arranged on the two sides of the engine, supply a common engine-driven pump.
