Abstract
497,620. Valve generating circuits; cathode - ray tubes. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Oct. 8, 1937, No. 27382. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1936. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] To produce waves of saw-tooth current in the deflecting coils of a cathode-ray tube, the output of a relaxation oscillator 9 is fed to a valve 1. through a network 11 which accentuates the higher harmonics of the relaxation oscillations relatively to the lower ones. The anode circuit of valve 1 comprises resistance 4 having a value which is large compared with that of coils 2a, 2b, and small compared with the internal resistance of the tube 1. To allow the coils 2a, 2b to act symmetrically on the tube 12, the coils are made equal and are connected in series. An iron yoke 13 surrounds the tube and the polepieces 14 enter the tube and extend as near as possible towards the cathode ray.
