481,568. Refrigerating. NORMELLI, W. B. Sept. 11, 1936, No. 24862. [Class 29] Absorption machines.-The products of combustion from the gas or oil burner of a machine are exhausted into a flue extending through a tank containing water to be heated. In a domestic cabinet comprising a refrigerator chamber, a heat-insulated water-tank 3, and a sink 4, the products from the burners 8 of the generator-absorber 5 pass into a flue 17 extending through the tank 3 and provided with transverse water circulation tubes 19. The heating of the water may be augmented by a gas burner 20 disposed in the flue and controlled by a thermostat 22 in the tank. The supply of gas to the burners 8 may be controlled by thermostats 23, 26 arranged in the generatorabsorber and the evaporator respectively of the machine. A device 25 cuts off the supply of gas to the burners 8 if the pilot jet 24 is extinguished. Cold water is admitted to the tank and the sink through pipes 27, 28 respectively, while hot water is drawn from the tank to the sink through the pipe 30. In a modification, the generator-absorber is placed in the tank, while in another arrangement, the condenser of the machine and the condenser of an evaporator-condenser cooling system for the generator-absorber are disposed in the tank.
