Abstract

481,145. Door-operating means. LEHMKUHL, J. April 2, 1937, No. 9356. Convention date, April 3, 1936. [Class 65 (i)] [Also in Group X] Opening and closing mechanism for doors of the kind comprising two leaves hinged together and one hinged to the frame, consists of a pivoted hand -lever 19 actuating the leaf 3 by roller and slot 22, 23, and a link 15 pivoted at a fixed point 17 and connected pivotally to a rod 11 rigidly secured to the other leaf 4. The door may be duplicated at 5, 6 to avoid wide leaves ; a link 25 and pivoted lever 26, 28 being provided for simultaneous actuation of the second pair. Alternative actuating means comprises a hand-actuated eccentric disc operatively connected by links to the leaves 3, 6. The pivot 17 should lie in the normal at its middle point to the line joining the positions of the point 13 when the ventilator is open and closed.
