Abstract

Diazo compounds derived from 4-carbalkoxyamino - 2 : 5 - dialkoxy - 1 - aniline are used in light-sensitive layers. They may be prepared by condensing 4-nitro-2 : 5-dialkoxyaniline with an alkyl chloroformate and reducing the nitro-group, or by condensing 2 : 5-dialkoxyaniline with an alkyl chloroformate, nitrating, and reducing the nitro-group. In examples, the diazo compounds of 4-carbomethoxyamino-2 : 5-diethoxy-1-aniline and 4-carboethoxy-2 : 5-diethoxy-1-aniline are used.
