Abstract
484,032. Door-locks. HOBBS, HART, & CO., Ltd., and BAKER, S. May 6, 1937, No. 12926. [Class 44] In a lock, the bolt 7 of which is held retracted by a spring detent 1 attached to the casing at 3, and is released when a projection 4 of the detent strikes the jamb, the handle spindle 9 carries a follower 11 having a face 13 normally held in contact with a shoulder 14 of the bolt by a coil spring 19, another face 20 of the follower contacting the top of the bolt when the bolt is retracted, and the end 15 of a spring pressed lever 16 when the bolt is shot. The lever 16 has a downward projection 17 in the path of the tumblers 18 which lift it when the key is turned. A second spring pressed lever 21, engaging a block 25 of the follower when the bolt is retracted and having a projection 22 in contact with the tumblers, is displaced when the tumblers fall, allowing the handle 10 to be turned by the spring 19 to indicate that the bolt is fully shot.
