Abstract

454,574. Electric furnaces. GRENE, G. H. S., and WILD-BARFIELD ELECTRIC FURNACES, Ltd., North Road, Holloway, London. April 2, 1935, No. 10258. [Class 51 (ii)] In an electric furnace having, within the outer insulating casing 2 and spaced therefrom, a metal charge-containing retort 1, the latter is extended upwardly above the furnace and carries a liquidseal trough 5 with which co-operates a flange member 8 formed by bending downwardly the metal sheathing 7 of the furnace cover 6. The cover 6 is supported by a girder structure 9, 10 resting on the top of the furnace.
