Abstract

Compositions for use as bleaching, washing, and cleansing agents comprise a mixture, by weight, of 1 part of oxygen yielding compounds, 1--3 parts each of salts of phosphoric acids having less water than orthophosphoric acid and of alkaline reacting inorganic salts. Other washing, cleansing, steeping, stabilizing and penetrating agents, with the exception of foaming agents may also be added. In examples, mixtures consist of: (1) sodium perborate and tetrasodium pyrophosphate in conjunction with calcined soda or trisodium phosphate or trisodium phosphate mixed with sodium metasilicate; (2) sodium perborate and calcined soda in conjunction with sodium polyphosphate (Na6P4O13) or with sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium metasilicate; (3) sodium perpyrophosphate, sodium polyphosphate (Na6P4O13) and sodium metasilicate. The components may be mixed by atomization, and may be in liquid, paste or solid form. Oxygen-yielding compounds also mentioned are percarbonates, persulphates, and perphosphates with or without stabilizing agents such as magnesium compounds. Ammonium salts of phosphoric acids having less water than orthophosphoric acid may be used such as hypophosphates, as well as salts of the said acids with triethanolamine, cyclohexyl amine and aminopropandiols. Optional additions specified are solvents, e.g. alcohols and hydrocarbons, and superfatting and polishing agents. Specification 443,731 is referred to.
