Abstract
412,879. Discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Patent-Treuhand- Ges. fur Elektrische Gl³hlampen; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin.) Jan. 30, 1934, No. 3141. Convention date, March 10, 1933. [Class 39 (i).] A thermionic cathode 9 is mounted at one end of a discharge tube in a part 8 of less section than that enclosing the hollow metal anode 3. The filling is a metal vapour such as sodium and preferably also some rare gas. The hot end 8 prevents migration of the metal towards the cathode and this is also ensured by means of a small tube 5 sealed to the discharge tube projecting into the hollow anode and containing a supply of sodium.
