Abstract

[Class 44.] A bolt c for folding doors or windows is withdrawn from its socket by means of a bell-crank lever pivoted at k in a casing a affixed to the door. A plate w on a secondary door s<1> engages the roller m upon the door s<1> being folded back, and raises the bolt c against a spring e to allow both doors to be swung back on hinges q. One or more ball-catches x keep the secondary doors s<1> together or retain them flat against doors p<1> by means of ball catches y<1>. The lower outer corners of the doors p<1> may be fitted with metal shoes, or the cover plates b provided with flanges. The socket plates for the bolts c may be slightly above floor level to support the outer corner of each principal portion of a door against sagging.
