Abstract

380,297. Converters. LEEMANS, J. and SOC. G•N•RALE M•TALLURGIQUE DE HOBOKEN, Hoboken-lez-Anvers, Belgium. Nov. 23, 1931, No. 32386. [Class 72.] A metallurgical converter is connected to a chimney 2 by a flue 3 of inverted U-shape formed integral with the converter body 1 and having an outlet 4 which is coaxial with the tilting axis of the body 1 and makes a tight joint with an aperture in the chimney. The latter is formed at the lower end with a collecting space 5 from which any slag passing over with the gases can be removed. The flue 3 is counterbalanced by a weight 6.
