Abstract
Machine parts or articles for use in working metals at high temperatures and subjected in use to considerable and repeated temperature variations such as centrifugal casting moulds, matrices, swaging sockets, rollers, and pressing plungers and dies are made from a steel alloy containing up to 0,3 per cent of carbon, 2,1-4,5 per cent of chromium, and 0,15-0,8 per cent of molybdenum, with or without up to 2 per cent of nickel. Part or all of the molybdenum may be replaced by twice the amount of tungsten. Specifications 312,349, 337,404, [both in Class 82 (i), Metals, Extracting &c.], and 354,965 are referred to.
