Abstract

371,121. Pipe joints. NATIONAL SUPPLY CORPORATION, 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A. March 12, 1931, No. 7654. Convention date, Dec. 12, 1930. [Class 99 (i).] In a ball-and-socket pipe joint, the ball ends 6 of each pipe are mounted in a housing 8 between bearing rings 11, 22, an intermediate bearing ring 14 carrying packing 17 which is so formed as to be maintained tightly against each ball by internal fluid pressure. The joint is adjusted by a flanged nut 20 which may be locked by a set-screw 25. Grease is supplied to the housing at 28, and lubricating grooves 29 are provided in the bearing 14.
