378,453. Aircraft bodies. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd., KEATS, A., Albion Works, Rea Street, Birmingham, and SEDDON, W., Bellavesta, Sandfield Road, Headington Hill, Oxford. May 11, 1931, No. 13833. [Class 4.] In the construction of vehicle bodies wherein vibration damping material is used in parts of the body such as bonnets, doors, dashboards, valances, and scuttles the material is held in position against the surface by a cover-plate, one or more recesses being stamped in the surface or in the coverplate to accommodate the material. As applied to dashboard of a motor-car, a sheet of felt 9 is mount ted in a recess 8 in the dash 1 and held in position by a cover-plate 10. Holes in the completed panel may be finished with eyelets 11. The insulation may be applied to parts of road and rail vehicles and to aircraft. The damping material may comprise wool, cloth, cork, rubber, leather, asbestos, or wood, and may be fireproofed.
