Abstract
374,639. Steam separators. FRIEDRICH, W., 52, Adolfstrasse, Rahlstedt, near Hamburg, Germany. June 18, 1931, No. 17692. [Class 123 (iii).] Steam separators and like apparatus for separating water &c. from vapours and gases of the type having coaxial narrowed admission nozzle f and liquid collecting nozzle g have an outer wall below the nozzle f at first cylindrical and gradually tapering towards its lower end to form the collector nozzle so that the steam flow is reversed after reaching the lower portion of the nozzle. A guide element p at the inlet may be divided by radial partitions into a number of channels. In a modification, the collector nozzle discharge pipe communicates with a collecting vessel connected by a pressure equalizing pipe with the steam inlet. A narrow tube leading from the supply pipe is also provided to prevent water collecting therein.
