Abstract

360,534. Water-flow timing valves. ELDER, D., 2533, Durant Street, Berkeley, California, U.S.A. Aug. 25, 1930, No. 25321. [Class 135.] Valves actuated by rotary motors.-A water-flow timing valve for use with garden hose &c. comprises a valve-setting cam 23.which.is manipulated by a knurled disc 35 to give the valve 14 a predetermined initial opening. The water flow from the inlet 7 to the outlet 8 operates a tangential type water wheel 10 which is geared through a triple-stage slow-thread worm gear arrangement 11, 20 and ball clutch to the cam shaft 19. After the prearranged flow the spindle 14 of the valve drops on to the recess 39 of the cam and the valve closes. The casing 1 is of circular shape with removable covers 2, 3 for access.
