Abstract

359,776. Sharpening razors. CARTER, W. W., 29, Talbot Road, Paddington, London. Dec. 1, 1930, No. 36174. [Class 60.] A device for sharpening razor blades consists of a block of glass, porcelain, &c. having a concave sharpening surface b, which may be cylindrical, V-shaped, or a combination of the two shapes. The blade is moved parallel to its edges on the surface b by a holder, Fig. 4, comprising a handle f carrying a rubber pad h having small projections j to engage the blade. The surface b has therein a central longitudinal slot c, which may extend the full length of the block or have ends d, and the holder has a projection or projections k to engage the slot during sharpening and to pass through the blade. According to the Provisional Specification, the rubber pad h may be slipped over the end of the handle/.
