Abstract
342,504. Smokers' ash trays &c. BELLOW, E. A., The Spinney, Filsham Park, St. Leonards-on-Sea. Jan. 21, 1930, No. 2100. [Class 130.] In an ash tray or other receptacle attached to a ribbon supported on the arm of a chair, a series of discs, rings, or the like attached to or formed upon the ribbon are formed with pin-like projections or stubs for gripping the chair arm. As shown in Fig. 1, the ribbon B is passed through slots A<3> in the wall A<2> of the receptacle A. An indiarubber disc C with projections or stubs C<1> is cemented to the ribbon beneath the receptacle and may be held by a plate D the edges of which are turned over the edges of the ribbon and the disc C. The remaining rubber discs F are each engaged by a perforated plate G, fitting over the stubs F<1> and held in place by a dome E, the prongs E<1> of which are passed through the ribbon and bent over the plate G. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4, the receptacle A is secured by a press fastener H to a rubber ribbon B formed with integral stubs Cl. Rings F are formed on the ribbon and provided with integral stubs F<1>, the hole in each ring F being engaged by the grooved edge of a weight I.
