349,910. Trouser press combined with suitcase &c. GOODWIN, F. G. W., 164, Fairfax Drive, and WILES, L. C. R., 162, Fairfax Drive, both in Westcliff-on-Sea, and JEFFRIES, G. H., 79, Wellington Road, Stoke Newington, London. Feb. 24, 1930, No. 6060. [Class 141.] The pressing member of a trouser press combined with a suitcase is arranged to be clamped to the baseboard by screws each of which enters a screw-threaded socket member secured to the suitcase by abutments one on the exterior of the suitcase and the other on the interior. The baseboard of the press may be formed by or may be secured to any wall of the suitcase. In the modification shown, the baseboard member a is secured in the lid A<1> of the suitcase by socket members D having fixed solid heads d on the exterior of the case and nuts d<1> on the interior. A fabric lining a<1> conceals the baseboard from view. The pressing member comprises boards B joined by metal bars b having cranked ends and slots b<1> to receive the shanks of screws c which pass into the screwthreaded socket members D, and which are formed with heads c<1> and finger pieces c<2>. The slots b<1> are so formed that when the screws c are loosened the pressing member may be freed from the baseboard member by a longitudinal sliding movement. A strap is provided to hold the ends of trousers which overlap from the press.
