Abstract

330,184. Kenyon, C. H. Aug. 10, 1929. Controlling-apparatus, arrangements of hand and foot gear in conjunction with; controlling- levers associated with hand-steering devices.-In order to enable the accelerator or other pedal of a motor vehicle or aeroplane to be actuated by hand a ring k or like hand-grip situated below the steering hand-wheel b is pivoted at n to a fixed bracket c and has an arm m adapted to engage a lever h pivoted at j to the bracket, the inner end of this lever being pivotally connected to a thrust rod f attached to the pedal e. Thus when the ring k is pressed upwards the rod f is depressed and the pedal operated. When the ring is released the return spring of the pedal raises the rod f and the ring falls until it is retained by a stop o. An adjusting screw p forms the contact between the arm m and the lever h. The invention may be used in conjunction with the controlling apparatus described in Specification 321,345.
