Abstract

319,054. Dunhill, V., and Dunhill, Ltd., A. June 15, 1928. Pocket igniters, frictional; igniters combined with cases.-A container 10 is divided into compartments, one of which receives a removable fuel receptacle 15 having an eccentric wick-tube 14 adapted to project through a tubular projection 13 adjacent a pyrophoric igniter 12 carried by a tube 11 supported by pillars 18. An end compartment 26 may be provided to receive a removable carrier 30 for cosmetic or a tube containing a cigarette-holder, cachous &c. The socket 27 of the carrier 30 is provided with a pin 28 which passes through a vertical slot 32 in an inner tube 31 and engages a helical groove 29 in the outer casing, the inner tube having a base 33, by means of which it may be rotated to propel the socket. Trays 36, 37 containing powder or other toilet requisites, cachous &c., or a powder receptacle having a rotatable sifter device, may be carried in a central compartment provided with a hinged lid carrying on its inner side a mirror. The fuel receptacle 15 is provided with a screw-plug 17 comprising a container 24 for spare flints. A cap 21 for the wick and the igniter is carried by a spring-controlled arm pivoted in a pillar on the container 10..
