Abstract
302,873. Kraszewski, J. K., and Kraszewski, M. A. June 29, 1928. Opening tops for road vehicles comprise a few rigid parts which can be folded one within the other and then into the vehicle body. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the part 1 is linked to the part 2 and is provided with pillars 4 to which the window frames 6 are hinged. Part 2 comprises pillars 5 with window frames 7, 8 hinged thereto, the pillars 5 being linked to the body of the vehicle. The rear part 3 comprising the rear quarter 16 is also linked to the body and the whole is foldable into a recess either by lifting the seat 12 or opening the back 19 of the body. If desired pillars may be provided coincident with pillars 5 for carrying the window frames 8 in which case the frames are disposed vertically at the sides of the body when folded. Figs. 6, 7, and 8 show another form in which the part 20 hinged to part 21 is foldable about links 24 into the part 22 which is turned down about hinges 25 into the rear quarter 23 under control of links 26 and the whole is then turned down about hinges 27 on to the rear of the vehicle body.
