Abstract

283,379. Lankshear, F. R., (Esser, C.). April 12, 1927. Cleaning, fluid-pressure processes for.-Beer, wine and other pipes are cleaned by forcing a finely divided cleaning medium, such as soap stone (steatite), through them by means of an apparatus comprising a storage container A and a discharge container C from which the cleaning medium is forced into the pipe D to be cleaned by water supplied through a pipe H to a pipe I movable by means of a lever L and having an enlarged end K containing a non-return valve, shown in Fig. 2, which is opened when the end of the pipe K closes the entrance to container C by the engagement of a part T with a crossbar 0, but is closed in the position shown in the Figures. The dirty water and cleaning material are returned to the container A through an inlet E, waste overflowing through a pipe F. If a stoppage occurs the flow of water may be reversed by means of a cock D'.
