288,286. Ohlin, E. A., and Carlsson, F. O. April 9, 1927, [Convention date]. Felts; wet presses.-In paper machines of the type known as Yankee, which are provided with only one drying cylinder 1, at least two pairs 4, 5 of pressing rollers are used between the couching press 3 and the drying cylinder, the upper press rollers having a common felt 7, the lower rollers having separate felts. The lower felt 9 nearest the couching press 3 may be floo@ o@ stuff produced by hard twisted yarn, while for the felt 8 a tighter woven felt with a smooth surface is suitable. The felt 7 need not pass round the upper couch roll.
