Optical instruments; syringes and like apparatus.-A dental mirror is provided with a nozzle for directing a jet of fluid into the cavity of a tooth during drilling, a saliva injector and means for flushing its own surfaces with a cleaning fluid. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the mirror 3 is mounted on a hollow stem 1 terminating in a jet 8 which passes through a hole in the mirror. Liquid is directed on to the tooth from a flask 16 by means of flexible tubes 14, 18 and a rubber squeeze-ball 17. A lateral hole 21 in the jet may be provided for directing cleansing liquid or gas on to the mirror surface. The nozzle may alternatively project from the back of the mirror, or, as shown in Fig. 6, it may be formed on the stem separated from the mirror which is then used for pressing back the tongue. Fig. 7 shows a mirror having in addition to a nozzle 8, as above described, nozzles 11, 12, 13 connected to a tube 14 fixed to or within the handle 1 for saliva ejection.
