Abstract

The system for covering a surface or wall comprises an elongate mounting rail having two flanges with free edges directed towards each other, and a profiled strip having an elongate recess or groove in each of its side faces, wherein the flanges extend into the grooves when the strip is inserted into the rail. The rail may be U-shaped and may comprise holes. The strip may be manufactured by extrusion. The mounting flanges may be aligned in a common virtual plane. The grooves of the strip may be symmetrical or asymmetrical, each lying at different levels or at an angle. The strip may have an outer face wider than its inner face. Also claimed is a system with a plurality of first strips with the same design features and a plurality of second strips with mutually different design features.
