Abstract

257,857. Rylance, E. April 23, 1926. Chimneys; chimney tops.-A chimney top or member for fitting in, or forming part of, a flue or stack is formed in two or more sections capable of making a spigot and socket connection with each other, and provided with a plurality of openended passages, arranged to form continuous channels for smoke, &c. when the parts are assembled. The sections each consist of an outer shell a, b, Figs. 1 and 2, and an inner a<1>, b<1>, providing a plurality of passages k<1> - - k<5>. The fitting may be built into a chimney or it may be supported therein by straps. The top of a chimney may be in the form of a member h, Fig. 5, having a hollow upstanding part h<1>, a slab portion h, and downwardly extending parts h<2> forming passages h<3>. The parts h<2> are supported on a rim a<3> of the member a.
