Abstract

256,134. Large, T. H. Feb. 16, 1926. Universal joints.-One or more flexible annular discs 9 are secured at the inner and outer peripheries to the coupled parts 11, 2 and the latter have grooves 16, 3, 4, into which the flexible rings 9 are pressed by rings 5, 13 correspondingly grooved, the rings 5, 13 being bolted or screwed to the coupled parts. The outer groove 3 of the members 2, 5, and the inner groove of the members 11, 13, may be omitted. The discs 9 may be built up of a number of radial sections, and each disc or each pair of discs may be separated by grooved thin metal rings 10.
